Touch Typing

Practicing things everyday improves your skill significantly e.g:
-In Kendo ( I do Kendo ) it's easy to know how to do a proper strike. It is significantly harder to do one well.
-Your typing speed will increase the more you type. I can type without looking, and I always do.

If you can't see yourself progressing try to think of how hard things were when you first started or what you could do / couldn't do.

Thanks! And I know what you mean!! About touch typing. Such a handy thing!! Since I like to type (about anything and everything), it's very handy not to look at the keyboard anymore Very Happy

... except when the teacher is dictating notes and you have to wait for ages for everyone to type it all out but you're done... I get given the sheet to type off

I can also touch type... sadly, I dont have a laptop, so it doesn't help me much in school. Sad

My school gave touch typing lessons when we were in year 4 and 5. It was not fun. We used software called 'Type to Learn'. Did anyone else have to do that?

It wasn't all that great, but at least I know how to touch type!

Oh! I just heard from my friend that all public schools in .. maybe all of australia.. maybe only our state, but anyway, all public schools are being sent laptops to help through the school years! How cool is that? haha! And i might be moving to my friend's school so then i'd have two laptops

Jenny, just type a lot. You get faster... and try slowly moving your eyes away from the keyboard.. and then eventually to the screen .. i dunno if that works or not haha

I used to remember when the teachers in Kindergarten taught us about computers :S

We had to memorize the keyboard and play Mario games Very Happy

You had to memorize the keyboard? Isn't that a bit harsh on kindy kids? lol it's hard enough to remember the alphabet at that age!

But playing mario games is cooL! I can't wait to get Super Smash Bro. Brawl!! So awesome!

!!! such harshness! I only learnt that in year 4! ... well i am terrible at maths so i was a slow learner.. i didn't learn how to read the time until year 4 either. It seems so simple now!

I think in kindergarten, i only ever learned the basics like the alphabet, the numbers, how to read. stuff like that. And i remember just as i finished kindergarten, they got this really cool caterpillar type play thing in my old classroom, and you could crawl through and it had windows and things. I was so annoyed. It happened in year 6 too, they remade the playground with all the cool new play equipment and the bright colours and things.
So wait.. you had more than one kindergarten teacher?
